First time ever over 13 miles!!!
Just finished my 15 mile run!! First time ever over 13 miles and don't feel too bad. Heart rate never went over 140 bpm and did first and last 5 miles in 10 minute miles, with middle 5 at 10.5 minute miles.
However for the 2nd week running my face is all tingly after run! Feels actually quite sore.

No energy this week
Really struggling this week for energy!!! Just completed steady pace 7 mile run (9min/miles) but could have easily stopped!! That's 2 days in a row when I have struggled! Obviously you are what you drink!!!
Tired!!
Really tired after weekend and could not find motivation to run! Got on it though and got my 6 mile done with 3 mile in middle at brisk pace (8 minute miles). Felt better after. Banged foot on chair today and have a nice bruise just by my little toe.

Tough week so far!
Struggling this week balancing social/family time with training etc. Been down in Lake District and unfortunately all runs are hill runs!! I've had to run first thing in the morning to not get in the way of our holiday, which i hate and it was freezing. I've also been less than good with wine and food, although not in the excess.
I've also got a heavy weekend coming up-out Friday night and Saturday night and then football Sunday, so having to build schedule around all that-13 miles on Friday before nights out.
Shins bit sore (after hills!) and legs feel bit fatigued!! Will be pleased when next week comes!
So far for the record 5 miles hills (Monday), 6 miles hills (Tuesday) and 5 miles easy tonight.

5m with 3 miles at brisk pace in the middle
Now that I understand how my training schedule is built and the benefits, really enjoyed my little session there. 1 mile warm up at 9 min/mile then 3 at 8min/mile with another 9 minuter at the end to warm down.
Love it!

Great night at Edinburgh Marathon Training & Inspiration Evening, with Run and Become.
Great night last night at Edinburgh Marathon Training & Inspiration Evening, with Run and Become.
Found Mike Johnston very clear and informative and he gave me real food for thought. It is worrying how many experts tell you how badly they did, doing their first Marathons etc!! Ruth McKean was really good and I am now trying to see if she can give me some personal advice on nutrition etc-the email has gone and I am awaiting her reply (i will keep you all posted!)
To cap a good night I won a £45 voucher for Run and Become!!!

Week 1 done and dusted!
Nice easy paced 9 miler this morning. Felt reasonably comfortable but only 3 weeks till I'm up at 15 mile! Most mile completed in a week, so happy with my 31 miles this week.
5 mile steady run (Saturday)
Hate running in the morning but got wallpapering to help my dad with so will have to! 5 miles steady and my legs feel quite stiff despite rest day.
On a plus side the wallpaper looks great!!!

Resting is necessary but not fun!!
Why is it when I have a rest day, I have loads of spare time for a decent run?? Sat here twiddling my thumbs desperate to run but sticking to the plan!

Bit longer and some hill work too!!
Training schedule stepped me up to 5 miles tonight and I had a mile of climb half way through, so bit more varied than last few nights. On reflection this week's schedule will give me 31 miles in total, albeit without feeling to taxing-so will trust the experts advise!

4 mile steady run
Feel that these short runs are not long enough but will trust the schedule and guess they are saving me for my weekly long run. Time will tell.
